Who we are?
Toots Studio is an artist-led collective founded by Timo Toots and Mari-Liis Toots. Our practice is cross-disciplinary, allowing us to work across different media, scales, and contexts - from interactive artworks and public installations to exhibitions, spatial environments, and experimental projects.
Our studio is based in the Estonian countryside at Maajaam. In addition to serving as our studio, Maajaam is a technological art centre and artist residency.
We also curate and produce Wild Bits, a series of outdoor exhibitions exploring technological art beyond conventional gallery spaces.
Who we are?
Mari-Liis Toots explores sound as a versatile material, integrating interaction, documentation and fiction. She is interested in sound as a narrative-initiating tool, the ontological properties of sound, and playing with auditory attention. The creative focus of Mari-Liis Rebane in recent years has been related to the study of sound as an event space.
Mari-Liis’ portfolio @vulvulpesTimo Toots artistic research concentrates on the relationships between humans, technology and nature. His work is addressing the question of privacy in the surveillance society and role of nature in the technological era. He has exhibited his works since 2006 in Europe, US and Asia. In 2012 Toots won Ars Electronica Golden Nica for interactive arts.

Where we are?
We are based in Southern Estonia. Here in the wilderness we have build an art farm called Maajaam. In Estonian it means “earth station”.
It’s a space for creative experiments with nature and technology. It is also open for other creatives through artist-in-residency and volunteering programs.
We are also working together with institutions to provide residency opportunities to their projects.

Wild Bits satellite exhibitions have been also exhibited outside of Estonia - also in Latvia, Lithuania and Finland. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in exhibiting Wild Bits in your country.
